USB7 6 Digit LED Display Kit The Solar Powered Theremin (Heliophone) Kit
Our Price: $25.99
Our Price: $15.99
The USB7 expands most computers with a USB connected 6-digit
seven-segment display. Supporting letters, numbers, and a range of
punctuation, the USB7 benefits any project requiring highly visible
information.
Using common a USB cable for both communication and power, the USB7
requires no special or bulky cables and with a simple virtual-serial
port protocol, sending regular ASCII characters is all that’s required
to control the USB7s full output capacity.
Based on the AVR-CDC project, the USB7 is supported by Windows XP,
Windows 2000, OS X, and many Linux variants.
This is an electronics kit suitable for beginners but it DOES require some soldering. With very few parts you can build a tiny solar powered theremin enclosed in an ALTOIDS or like mint tin (NOT INCLUDED). So when the oil runs out, the ice caps melt and civilization crumbles to dust, thanks to the Heliophone, we will still have electronic music :-) By ClockworkRobot.

New Item!

Fashioning Technology

Our Price: $29.99
Ready to take your craft projects to the next level? With "smart" materials, unorthodox assembly techniques, and the right tools, you can create accessories, housewares, and toys that light up, make sounds, or do even more. Fashioning Technology offers jargon-free primers and lots of how-to projects that will have you making -- and even wearing -- functional works of art.
This book demonstrates how to blend sewing and assembly techniques with traditional electronics to assemble simple circuits using conductive thread, solder joints for snaps, and switches for buttons. With the sewing machine as a viable substitute for the soldering iron, you can craft a new generation of objects that are interactive, quirky, and fashion-conscious.
